Biography

Simultaneously running an engineering firm and a lifestyle hospitality group that currently owns 1 Michelin Star restaurant and 1 Michelin Selected restaurant is certainly no easy feat, but for Alex Cheah, he revels in the process of overcoming challenge after challenge to achieve absolute success, just like his critically acclaimed, variously diverse restaurants scattered across the competitive city of Kuala Lumpur: Beta KL, Skillet@163 and Burnt & Co. His passion for food remains a pivotal driving force behind his dedication in an unforgiving industry, typically spending his days running and growing these establishments which currently include an agenda to offer more artisanal products to the masses via a central kitchen and to organise more national lifestyle events.
